About The Position

The Plant Operator position at Vulcan Materials Company involves operating plant equipment and ensuring the safe and efficient flow of materials in the production of construction aggregates. Requirements

• Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of the concrete, cement, or construction industry is preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
• Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety by prioritizing safety throughout the operation in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Operate plant equipment to regulate the flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins.
• Control stockpile inventory of materials.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment, documenting items in need of repair or service.
• Monitor and review plant equipment systems to ensure continuous flow of materials and maintain certified products.
• Remove clogged materials when applicable.
• Assist plant management with record keeping and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance.
• Read and write delivery tickets to determine the mix design called for each load and issue delivery tickets to customers.
• Assist with maintenance activities, including greasing, lubricating, and other minor repairs throughout the plant when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
