About the position
The Plant Operator position at Energy Transfer involves the operation and maintenance of various gas processing equipment and systems within plant facilities. The role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of compressors, pumps, valves, and pipelines, while adhering to regulatory and safety standards. Operators will be responsible for monitoring equipment performance, responding to alarms, and optimizing processing to meet product specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities including cryogenic plants and LNG facilities.
- Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to achieve desired operating results.
- Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and take corrective measures.
- Maintain compliance with partnership and environmental standards, including required reporting and readings.
- Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
- Communicate with control centers and other operating groups as necessary.
- Oversee construction and maintenance activities performed by third parties.
- Perform lab tests for quality assurance and assist with minor repairs as needed.
- Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license in state of residency.
- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment and perform call outs.
- Ability to react to high stress/emergency situations in a timely manner.
Nice-to-haves
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn operation and maintenance tasks.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with HIMI software operations.
