About the position

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Plant Production Manager for our Whitesville Mill Service location in Crawfordsville, IN. This role is pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the slag plant and other processing plants. The Plant Production Manager will coordinate with various teams to ensure that production needs are met efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strong focus on maintaining relationships with mill management, vendors, and operations management to facilitate smooth operations and enhance productivity. In this role, the Plant Production Manager will assist the Operations Manager in developing budgets and business plans, ensuring that products and services meet customer specifications. The manager will also be responsible for coordinating teams to identify process improvements, reviewing monthly budgets to manage costs, and assisting with the evaluation of capital expenditures. Monitoring outside scrap sales, managing railcar scheduling and tracking, and overseeing onsite slag sales are also key responsibilities. The manager will handle shipping yard coordination with the Levy sales team and run KPI reports to analyze data for better decision-making. Additionally, the Plant Production Manager will assist with the documentation of quality systems procedures and policies, providing necessary reporting and recordkeeping as required. This position is essential for maintaining operational excellence and ensuring that the plant meets its production goals while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Sales and Marketing team to identify production needs
  • Develops and maintains relationships with mill management, vendors and operations management
  • Assists the Operations Manager in developing budgets and business plans
  • Ensures products and services meet customer specifications

  • Monitors Onsite Slag sales
  • Manages satellite scrap sales site
  • Handles Shipping yard coordinating with the Levy sales team
  • Runs KPI reports, analyzes data and utilizes information for better decision-making
  • Assists with the documentation of quality systems procedures and policies
  • Provides reporting and recordkeeping as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager

Requirements

  • Some college or degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience in industrial or construction environment
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and ability to implement related programs and controls
  • Ability to understand financial data
  • Supervisory experience
  • Computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver's license
