About the position

The Plant Production Manager at Handi Products is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that manufacturing and installation functions meet customer and quality standards. This role involves managing schedules, optimizing production efficiency, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, resource management, and compliance with safety protocols, all while supporting the company's mission to provide high-quality, accessible products.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all manufacturing and installation functions, optimizing schedules with MRP software.
• Hire, train, mentor, and review employees to cultivate a collaborative environment.
• Document and improve manufacturing processes, emphasizing lean practices and cost reduction.
• Effectively manage human and material resources, tracking inventory and supply needs.
• Lead initiatives to improve design processes and reduce production costs.
• Ensure proper use and upkeep of equipment and facilities, supporting maintenance programs.
• Enforce regulatory standards and safety protocols, conducting risk assessments.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to meet customer needs and address feedback.
• Track KPIs and generate reports to drive improvements and achieve company goals.
• Oversee budgets, recordkeeping, purchasing, and payroll reconciliation.

Requirements

• 5+ years in manufacturing, with a focus on welding and metal fabrication.
• 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to read blueprints and familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
• Understanding of AWS welding codes (preferred).
• Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.
