About the position
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining post coverage and ensuring adherence to security protocols as outlined in General and Special Guard Orders. This role requires a commitment to safety and security standards, as well as compliance with certification and licensing requirements. The officer must demonstrate vigilance and integrity while performing their duties.
Responsibilities
- Ensure post coverage as outlined in Guard Orders.
- Enforce security protocols, adhering to all policies in General and Special Guard Orders.
- Maintain readiness and compliance with certification and licensing standards.
- Comply with all designated time limits on duty as mandated without extension unless explicitly authorized by the Facility Security Officer (FSO).
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Minimum of 21 years old.
- No Class A or B misdemeanors, felony convictions, or Title 18 (Domestic Violence) convictions.
- Maintain Texas Department of Public Safety/Private Security Bureau Commissioned Security Officer (SA/STG) license.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Must have a minimum interim secret clearance as per NISPOM 5220.22-M standards.
- Drug and alcohol-free (free from mind-altering substances).
- Tobacco-free on customer property.
- Pass an annual mental health assessment to verify emotional fitness for carrying a firearm.
- Meet physical fitness standards as per an annual assessment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, communication).
- Basic computer skills, especially familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (must be obtained within 90 days of assignment).
- Training and certification in all intermediate weapons issued and restraints carried to a national standard.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in security or law enforcement roles.
- Advanced security guard training/certification program recognized by the State of Texas.
