About the position
The Plant Supervisor at Vulcan Materials Company is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an underground aggregate plant, ensuring optimal production, safety, and compliance with company policies. This role involves managing employee relations, planning production schedules, monitoring quality control, and maintaining a strong safety culture within the plant. The supervisor will lead a team, provide training, and ensure that all operational processes meet the required standards.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety and ensure compliance with Vulcan's safety policies and procedures.
- Organize and plan daily production operations for optimal utilization of resources.
- Manage employee relations, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor production processes and quality control to ensure product specifications are met.
- Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
- Inspect equipment and assist in daily maintenance to ensure safe operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience supervising production employees, preferably in an underground aggregate plant.
- Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and mentor employees.
- Operational knowledge of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication and team building.
- Financial knowledge to lead performance towards established targets.

- Experience with MSHA regulations and quality control systems.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
