About the position

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services plays a crucial role in supporting plasma center operations by ensuring donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and providing medical support under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and Center Physician. This part-time position emphasizes customer service and quality in the collection of high-quality plasma that contributes to life-changing medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history interview.
  • Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as per SOPs.
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health/ER as needed.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
  • Currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
