About the position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Plastic Additive Manufacturing professional to support a USG customer in Northern Virginia. The role involves operating, maintaining, and serving as the primary subject matter expert for tools and equipment related to plastics molding, casting, and additive manufacturing. The position is contingent upon contract award and requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies and equipment installation.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities for efficient and productive layout.
  • Specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment affecting product performance.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control.
  • Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements.
  • Ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  • Operate and maintain plastic and additive manufacturing surface finishing and painting capabilities.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with external vendors to ensure equipment availability.

Requirements

  • 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 13 years with a Master's; 10 years with a PhD; or 19 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma for Level 5.
  • 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; or 13 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma for Level 4.
  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 3 years with a Master's; or 9 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma for Level 3.
  • 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; or 6 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma for Level 2.
  • 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; or 4 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma for Level 1.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment as detailed in the job description.
  • Organizational skills to manage material and equipment stock inventory.
  • Experience complying with HAZMAT materials in accordance with EPA regulations.
  • Research and awareness of emerging capabilities in plastics and additive manufacturing.
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI Full Scope Poly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical background in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience with configuration management of procedures and documentation.
