Nordson MEDICAL - Salem designs, engineers and manufactures components and devices with application in surgical / minimally invasive, interventional/structural heart, and pulmonology, among others. Our team manufactures precision extrusion, balloons, heat shrink tubing and sub-assemblies for the medical device industry. Nordson MEDICAL's Salem NH Internship Program is designed to provide high performing individuals with a meaningful experience within the Medical Component Industry relative to process & product engineering of extrusion and/or balloons and/or sub-assemblies. Interns gain valuable engineering and manufacturing experience through focused projects to advance business and operational performance. Summer session will run from late May to mid-August.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of an experienced process and product engineer focusing on manufacturing optimization of extrusion and/or balloon processing and/or sub-assembly processes.
  • Responsible for project-based data gathering for sample production runs, data analysis, complaint investigation, product testing, engineering change control, and/or drawing/modeling support.
  • Participate in setting up or running equipment for new or existing products to advance polymer processing understanding.
  • Accountable for presenting learning and performance improvements by the conclusion of the program.

Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Senior College / University enrolled or recently graduated high performing Plastics Engineering Students.
  • Experience with polymer processing is desirable.
  • Statistical & Tolerance Analysis skills.
  • Basic computer, data retrieval and data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail, willingness to learn and contribute, project management, results oriented.
  • Compliance with all Quality System and safety requirements.
