About the position

The Platform Administration Manager at McLane Company is responsible for leading the Platform Administration team to ensure stable and effective application platforms. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing activities to maximize productivity through technology, while also collaborating with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work three days a week, and is focused on delivering superior customer experiences and improving team and community lives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Platform Administration team.
  • Define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Develop scalable, maintainable, and highly available system architectures.
  • Raise the quality and value of solutions and support services through improved project management.
  • Coordinate upgrade activities with Application Owners to minimize downtime.
  • Research, identify, and create automated installation processes for Operational Platforms.
  • Implement, maintain, and validate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity procedures.
  • Increase business users' awareness of solutions and changes to the environments.
  • Foster a work environment with recognition of accomplishments and teamwork.
  • Manage activities of the Platform Administration team and coordinate subject matter related requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Server Operating Systems (Windows/Linux).
  • Experience with Java, MQ, and WebSphere Portal or Web Application Server technology (WebSphere, Tomcat, etc.) or Cognos.
  • Five years of experience leading infrastructure, security, database, and operating system teams.
  • Five years of experience leading a team with technically focused direct reports.
  • Five years of experience managing a cost center including budgeting and purchase execution responsibility.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
