About the position

The Platform Automation Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of applications within a major bank's infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in automation tools and cloud technologies, with a focus on implementing CI/CD pipelines and managing containerized applications. The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week on-site in New York City, and is initially a contract role with the potential for extension or permanent hire.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using automation tools.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other DevOps tools.
• Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Investigate issues and provide timely responses to customer inquiries.
• Collaborate with technology and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Utilize project tracking software like Jira for task management.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in Terraform, Ansible, DevOps, and Containers.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Experience with Docker, Gitlab, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
• In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms.
• Experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
• BS degree in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in relevant technologies are considered a huge plus.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
