About the position

The Analytics Engineer III role at Generac Power Systems is focused on providing essential infrastructure for monitoring and analyzing the performance of internet-connected and field-installed Generac Clean Energy products. This position involves scrutinizing data to ensure product functionality, identifying early signs of product issues, and communicating findings to various business groups. The role requires a strong background in statistics and programming, as well as the ability to manage and analyze large datasets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time operation and performance of internet connected and field installed products.
  • Develop, streamline, and document processes to hand off identified product issues to Customer Service, Operations, and Product Engineering.
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on product analytics and operations reviews.
  • Identify and evaluate system irregularities, taking corrective action as provided in established guidelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical goals and metrics.
  • Report progress to roadmap for each product line for current and legacy generations.
  • Create presentations to provide updates on emerging trends, risks, and issues through an analytical framework.
  • Create documentation outlining identified issues, process improvements, analytical tools, and outcomes.
  • Communicate with Customer Service, Operations, Product Engineering, and other internal stakeholders to drive product operation and future improvements.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a STEM field and 2-4 years of related experience or M.S. Degree and 0-2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with either Tableau, BI toolset or Python analytics environment.
  • General knowledge of SQL database concepts.
  • Proficient in data analysis, modeling and reporting with Excel.
  • Experience writing queries in SQL or NoSQL database language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Power electronics and/or control system experience.
  • Firm understanding and practical application of statistical concepts.
  • Experience with Python or comparable programming language for analytics.
  • General understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
