About the position

The Platform Scrum Master at Cornerstone Defense is responsible for leading an agile platform product team, ensuring effective scrum practices, and facilitating agile ceremonies. This role involves collaborating with various teams to design and implement a modern platform infrastructure that supports critical national assets. The Scrum Master will also assist in backlog grooming, eliminate impediments, and provide operational support for the platform, all while ensuring security and compliance are integrated into the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Scrum Master for an agile platform product team, managing the team's agile cadence.
  • Run scrum meetings, sprint reviews, and PI planning sessions.
  • Assist the product owner in backlog grooming and agile event preparations.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to design and implement solutions.
  • Support the transition of tightly coupled systems to a modern platform infrastructure.
  • Eliminate impediments to keep the team focused on objectives.
  • Provide operational support for the platform and ensure security and compliance are integrated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) or related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Experience troubleshooting applications and infrastructure services on Linux-based operating systems.
  • Experience with VMware and programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Fortify).
  • Multi-disciplined infrastructure experience with compute, networks, storage, and virtualization.
