About the position

The Early Childhood Educator at Play Cousins Collective is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves facilitating various educational activities, supporting children's developmental milestones, and ensuring their safety and well-being during classroom activities. The educator will adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of children and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
  • Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games, storytelling, and nature activities
  • Support the management of classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks, and meals
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
  • Help children reach developmental milestones
  • Always provide appropriate supervision for children
  • Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
  • Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms
  • Physically assist with toileting, changing children, and emotionally supporting children during these activities
  • Provide bus monitor support as needed, including riding the bus with students and supporting bus drivers with supervision
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and school staff
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom
  • Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies
  • Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures
  • Model professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, peers, and the community
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience providing behavioral and instructional support to Pre-K and early childhood students
  • Associate's degree (preferred)
