About the position

The Sustainability Supervisor at Eldora Mountain Resort is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the resort's sustainability initiatives. This role involves developing innovative solutions to conservation challenges, supervising waste diversion operations, and engaging in community outreach to promote environmental awareness. The supervisor will also track sustainability metrics, assist in grant applications, and support the integration of sustainability practices across the resort's operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of new solutions to existing conservation challenges.
• Participate in conservation advocacy and outreach by hosting waste diversion trainings and workshops.
• Supervise operations of compost, recycle, and landfill sorting stations to ensure waste streams are not contaminated.
• Schedule and supervise the mountain sustainability team to meet daily staffing needs.
• Track and report on sustainability metrics and progress towards goals.
• Create educational materials and presentations on sustainability topics.
• Research grant opportunities and support grant applications.
• Facilitate sustainability audits to identify areas of improvement.
• Develop and implement conservation-based projects aligned with Eldora's Play Forever initiative.
• Support Eldora's culture of conservation through social media advocacy and outreach.
• Provide friendly interactions with guests and serve as a sustainability ambassador.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
• 1+ years of resort operations or tourist industry related experience.
• Must have a valid US Driver's License.
• College degree (B.S.) in environmental science, sustainability, conservation or related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in environmental social governance data collection.
• Knowledge of sustainability metrics and reporting.
