About the position

The Player Development Operations and Program Coordinator at the NBA will be responsible for driving project-based work, assisting in the development and execution of league-based development programs, and managing event logistics. This role requires interaction with various stakeholders and provides administrative support to the Head of Player Development and department staff, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the logistics and project requirements for the department's signature programs and events, including the NBA Rookie Transition Program and G League Orientation.
  • Assist with the development and execution of department programs, initiatives, and events.
  • Help create and implement outreach and engagement strategies for top high-school basketball athletes.
  • Facilitate Team Awareness Meetings in the NBA and NBA G League.
  • Manage overall operations of the Coaching Development Program, including candidate recruitment and communication.
  • Provide administrative support to the SVP, including calendar management and budget oversight.
  • Serve as a liaison for inquiries from internal and external media and partners.
  • Support department staff with administrative and project tasks.
  • Act as a point person on the department's logistics advance team for program and event venues.
  • Represent Player Development in various projects within the NBA.
  • Manage department merchandise purchases and event coordination.
  • Handle travel arrangements for consultants and players.
  • Troubleshoot and provide administrative support as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
  • Work option of 4 days a week in the New York, NY office.
