About the position

The PLC Applications Engineer at CB Pacific plays a vital role in supporting, developing, testing, and implementing advanced software and hardware applications. This position involves collaboration with engineers and the business development team to enhance customer software/hardware support initiatives, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support customer software/hardware applications, ensuring adherence to documented support practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Implement robust and scalable solutions to meet customer needs and project objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the customer base, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Conduct customer support reviews and share industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Sales leaders to identify and address issues promptly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software/hardware application support, with expertise in relevant technologies, languages, and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of GE/Emerson system platforms and experience in designing, planning, and deploying system architectures.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, validating, and tuning GE/Emerson products.
  • Skills in developing high-quality data visualizations using tools such as GE Operations, IFIX, and Cimplicity.
  • Experience in developing and supporting PLC programming software.
  • Familiarity with Emerson PLC and DCS-based control systems, smart meters, and energy management systems as data sources.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with the Microsoft family of products.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to mentor junior team members.
