About the position

Inframark is seeking a Senior PLC Applications Engineer to develop PLC application monitoring and control software, conduct factory and field testing, and provide customer training and service. The role requires independent work and leadership of small engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions in the Water & Wastewater industry.

Responsibilities

  • Receive project requirements and direction through meetings with the Project Manager and review of contract documents.
  • Keep Project Managers informed of the status of tasks and project milestones, maintaining awareness of project budgets.
  • Produce timely, accurate project documentation such as timesheets and trip reports.
  • Follow established Best Practices and Development Standards and Procedures.
  • Produce the System Control Narrative on projects.
  • Develop PLC application programs based on contract documents and System Control Narrative using the PLC manufacturer's Programming Software.
  • Install all developed application software and required vendor software, verifying their proper execution.
  • Interface the company's supplied equipment to third-party vendor systems via industrial communication protocols when applicable.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) as required.
  • Demonstrate overall system functionality to the Owner/Engineer/Contractor, including hardware and network operation, SCADA monitoring and control, data display, alarming, and historical data collection for report generation.
  • Provide training to operators, supervisors, and administrative personnel.
  • Generate and gather all required final project documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers.
  • Provide reactive and responsive support to field service technicians to assist in troubleshooting and repair of PLC-related issues at customer sites or by remote support as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for less experienced engineers as appropriate.
  • Lead or participate in project teams as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in PLC programming, preferably in the Water & Wastewater industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC hardware and programming software (Allen-Bradley and/or Schneider and/or Siemens and/or Emerson).
  • Experience with connecting PLCs to SCADA systems such as Ignition, AVEVA, VTScada, and iFix and troubleshooting such connections.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $107K - $133K depending on level of experience.
