About the position

The Instrument & Control Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, procurement, implementation, and maintenance of all process control systems within a chemical plant. This role requires a strong background in DCS, PLC, and process data historian systems, along with the ability to manage instrumentation projects and ensure the reliability of control systems. The position involves collaboration with operations personnel to optimize system performance and maintain compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, procure, implement and maintain all process control systems.
  • Develop and implement new DCS and PLC configurations for process control.
  • Modify existing DCS and PLC configurations for process control.
  • Edit DCS and PLC operating parameters when requested by operations personnel or required by new projects.
  • Maintain control system equipment service agreements, schedule and oversee service work.
  • Design, procure and implement process instrumentation projects.
  • Develop IEC construction packages and oversee construction activities for IEC projects.
  • Monitor and maintain process controllers, communications and I/O equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain process control HMI displays and HIS stations.
  • Work with operations to perform & document testing of emergency shutdown systems.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience with DCS control systems including programming/configuration and maintenance.
  • At least three years of experience with process data historian systems including configuration and maintenance.
  • At least three years of experience with PLC systems including programming/configuration and maintenance.
  • Good working knowledge of DCS and HIS development, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience with Yokogawa Centum VP, CS3000 or similar PLC and HMI development, programming, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with DCS sequence, conditional tables, ladder logic, and graphics configuration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in specifying and purchasing instrumentation for process control and automation.
  • Experience managing instrument and electrical related project work including developing scope and selecting/directing contract labor.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $130's to $145ish with paid overtime.
  • Hourly pay reflecting $62 to $69 per hour.
