About the position

The PLC Electronic Control Systems Design Build Engineer is responsible for designing and building electronic control systems for essential industries. This role requires a solid electronics background, particularly in PLC programming and control systems integration, while also emphasizing communication and coordination with various internal and external stakeholders. The position offers excellent advancement potential and involves working on new and interesting projects within a company that embraces new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build PLC based electronic control systems for industrial applications.
  • Coordinate with internal and external departments to ensure project success.
  • Program PLCs and develop Ladder Logic for control systems.
  • Integrate control systems into networks using TCP/IP and related technologies.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams and documentation, including AutoCAD drawings.
  • Manage customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Research and implement new technologies related to electronic control systems.
  • Prepare system documentation, including how-to guides and reference manuals.
  • Coordinate system builds with various teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar field preferred.
  • Experience in designing and building PLC based electronic control systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with teams and customers.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and Ladder Logic.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and control systems integration (DCS, HMI, SCADA).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and customer service skills.
  • Good business sense focused on ROI and profitability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with WonderWare, iFix, or similar control systems software.
  • Familiarity with contract terms and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Experience coordinating field engineering system upstarts and cutovers.
  • Ability to adapt initial specifications based on technical changes.
  • Experience with electronic system packing lists and billing paperwork.
