About the position

Actalent is seeking a PLC Field Service Engineer to join our team. This role involves installing, integrating, repairing, and troubleshooting complex machinery that requires a high level of technical skill and independent problem-solving abilities. The engineer will ensure that all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met. This position also includes PLC troubleshooting and light programming, as well as directing and supervising customer personnel during plant machinery installations, integrations, or servicing. The engineer will identify and correct hardware or software discrepancies and maintain positive customer relationships while identifying new product opportunities. Additionally, the engineer will advise customers on necessary parts for their inventory after reviewing their parts' inventory. The role requires working from complex engineering drawings and specifications, detailed written and/or verbal instructions, handbooks, manuals, etc., using a variety of precision measuring instruments. This position requires 75% travel throughout the US, Mexico, and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Install, integrate, repair, and troubleshoot complex machinery requiring a high level of technical skill and independent problem-solving abilities.
• Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met.
• PLC troubleshooting & light programming.
• Direct and/or supervise customer personnel during plant machinery installations, integrations, or servicing (repair and/or troubleshooting).
• Identify and correct hardware or software discrepancies.
• Maintain positive customer relationships and identify new product opportunities.
• Advise customers on necessary parts for their inventory after reviewing customer parts' inventory.
• Work from complex engineering drawings and specifications, detailed written and/or verbal instructions, handbooks, manuals, etc., using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• 75% travel required through US, Mexico and Canada.
