About the position

The PLC Maintenance Technician at KIK Consumer Products plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment within the manufacturing plant. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various electrical and instrumentation equipment, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations. The technician will work in a dynamic environment that values continuous improvement and collaboration, making significant contributions to the success of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment including motors, starters, breakers, transformers, and PLCs.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, valves, and flow meters.
  • Complete and prioritize multiple work orders related to controls systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to maintenance and emergency situations, ensuring proper functioning of electrical systems.
  • Discuss and explain technical issues in a professional manner during equipment breakdowns.
  • Utilize MS Windows, Industrial Software, and SAP for daily operations.
  • Assist maintenance technicians on shift as needed, including performing mechanical repairs.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting with troubleshooting and programming PLCs.
  • Associate's degree in electronic field or Electrical Diploma/Certificate with at least 3 years of experience, or 5+ years of proven experience in a related field.
  • Proficient with SAP and able to adapt to rapidly changing business priorities.
  • Ability to train and coach others based on technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills of electrical control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and reaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 and 70E standards.
  • Experience with Rockwell software packages including RS Logix 5, 500, 5000.
  • Understanding of ladder logic and function block programming.
  • Ability to configure IP and serial communication ports for PLC & HMI hardware.
