About the position

We are searching for a PLC Programmer to be a field representative for our customer in Dillsburg, PA. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining PLC programs for Industrial Automation Systems. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing SCADA applications that provide real-time monitoring, data visualization, and control functionalities. In this position, you will create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up. You will perform Wire Shark captures and interpret the data collected, set up VPN Tunnels, and port-forwarding rules in managed switches/routers. Additionally, you will source/simulate 4-20 mA signals and develop PLC and HMI Programs from scratch. You will provide guidance to field service staff in programming, repair, installation, and maintenance of PLC systems. Your responsibilities will also include developing, modifying, and troubleshooting PLC programs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, or structured text to control various industrial processes and equipment, with a preference for experience or proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs. You will design and develop SCADA applications and be proficient in utilizing platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, or FactoryTalk View. Furthermore, you will integrate PLCs with other automation components such as HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, actuators, and drives to create comprehensive automation solutions. Diagnosing and resolving issues related to industrial networks, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus, will be essential to ensure reliable communication between PLCs, SCADA systems, and other automation devices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2 Year Technology Degree, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of related experience in the Automation Industry or related field preferred.
  • Experience with programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs.
  • Experience with PLC hardware and software platforms from leading manufacturers.
  • Experience in SCADA development, including designing and configuring SCADA applications for industrial automation.
