About the position

The PLC Programmer will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and maintaining PLC systems used in industrial automation processes within the plastics industry. This role involves collaboration with engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing systems, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge technologies in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC programs based on project requirements for plastics manufacturing processes
  • Design and implement control systems for automated machinery within the plastics industry
  • Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software components specific to plastics production lines
  • Conduct testing and debugging of PLC programs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other control systems
  • Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams
  • Document and maintain detailed records of PLC programs and modifications
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to PLC programming

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PLC programming
  • Strong background in automation within the plastics industry
  • Proven experience in project management and self-driven initiatives
  • Familiarity with various protocols and programming languages (e.g., Python, Modbus)
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram
  • Experience with PLC hardware and software platforms commonly used in the plastics industry (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation principles specific to plastics manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams related to plastics production equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
