About the position
The PLC Technician/Programmer position at a heavy equipment manufacturing company in Cedar Rapids involves engaging with customers, suppliers, engineering, and management to achieve project goals. The role includes providing service support to customers and ensuring project objectives such as cost, quality, and timelines are met. This position offers the flexibility of remote work.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer plant site to install plant controls, PLC, motors, and electrical components.
- Train customer personnel on the operation of plant equipment and troubleshoot existing plant sites.
- Supervise and undertake wiring installations and upgrade plant controls at existing plant sites.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Formal training and/or schooling in electrical controls and wiring is a plus.
- Professional knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of electrical controls and wiring.
- Good human relations skills to convey technical engineering concepts to others and work cooperatively with internal and external customers.
- Proficient technical writing skills to prepare product specifications, test, and process documentation.
