About the position

The Plow Technician role at Spectrum involves operating various heavy and light construction equipment to support telecommunications infrastructure projects. This position is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient installation of underground utilities, contributing to the expansion and protection of Charter's network. The role offers a dynamic work environment with varied daily tasks and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Vermeer heavy and light construction equipment including backhoes, rock saws, excavators, cable plows, directional drills, trenchers, front-end loaders, and air compressors.
  • Locate equipment, hydraulic reel trailers, and other machinery for telecommunications projects.
  • Ensure the safety and efficiency of underground utility installations.
  • Support the expansion of Charter's network by performing conduit and fiber installations.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in underground utility installation methods and practical working experience with underground construction for conduit and fiber installation.
  • High school diploma or General Education diploma.
  • General knowledge of construction practices and ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least five years of experience in conduit and fiber installation methods.
  • OSHA safety certifications.
  • Operator qualifications.
  • Class A CDL.
