About the position

The PLSQL Developer position is a contract role focused on developing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL queries within the Oracle database environment, particularly in the context of capital markets. The role requires extensive experience in performance tuning, data modeling, and ETL solutions for large volumes of data, as well as a solid understanding of Oracle server architecture and memory management. The ideal candidate will have a background in the financial industry and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries.
• Perform application tuning using tools like EXPLAIN PLAN, SQL*TRACE, and AWR Reports.
• Implement ETL solutions for large volumes of data using data warehouse modeling techniques.
• Maintain metadata, data glossary, and data catalog processes.
• Ensure data security through encryption procedures and protocols.
• Work with Unix/Linux shell scripting and potentially Python.
• Monitor and measure data quality using business rules.
• Translate architecture and low-level requirements into design and code using SQL.
• Scale and optimize performance via schema design, query tuning, and index creation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Oracle/Exadata SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong performance tuning skills in Oracle databases.
• Clear understanding of Oracle Server Process Architecture and memory structures (PGA and SGA).
• Experience in implementing ETL solutions and data warehouse modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Experience in the financial industry, particularly with risk background.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology is desirable.
• Experience in data modeling for dimensional/reporting and transactional use cases.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Python programming language.
• Familiarity with reporting and query tools and practices.
