The Plumber position at Pueblo of Sandia Enterprises involves performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing systems under general supervision. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of plumbing principles, practices, and techniques, as well as knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and guidelines. The plumber will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various plumbing components, including toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains. This position also entails installing, maintaining, and repairing water and drainage systems, plumbing fixtures, ice machines, equipment, faucets, pools, sump pumps, backflows, garbage disposals, and fire suppression systems. The plumber will inspect systems, replace corroded pipes, drain unheated water lines in outdoor facilities, and remove backflow preventers to winterize lines. They will also be tasked with replacing defective piping, cleaning out drains, and repairing or replacing defective faucets, toilets, and urinals. Additionally, the role includes troubleshooting and repairing steam, water, and gas utility distribution systems, ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot non-working fixtures, valves, irrigation systems, and lift station pumps to identify the nature of the problem and the type of repair needed. The plumber will also perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and handle miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. The work environment is physically demanding, involving considerable physical activity and exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures and toxic chemicals.
