About the position

The Plumber position at Aerotek involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in various structures. The role requires a thorough understanding of building plans and specifications, as well as the ability to work with various materials and tools to ensure plumbing systems are operational and meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
• Inspect structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Bend pipe to required angle using a pipe-bending machine or by hand.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various materials.
• Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
• Test plumbing systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine operational status.
• Repair and maintain plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
• Understand all contract documents and specifications.
