About the position
This position is located at Neuse Correctional Institution in Goldsboro, North Carolina. This is a medium custody male facility. This position is responsible for the ongoing preventive maintenance and continuous repair of water/piping systems throughout the facility. Will install, repair and replace commodes, sinks, water coolers, water heaters, garbage disposal, dishwasher, shower valves, water faucets, flush valves, and other related fixtures and equipment. At times this position will be expected to provide assistance to other maintenance staff in other trades. As such, this position will be crossed-trained and able to perform or assist in the performance of other construction or maintenance related tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and continuous repair of water/piping systems.
- Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures such as commodes, sinks, water coolers, water heaters, garbage disposals, dishwashers, shower valves, water faucets, and flush valves.
- Assist other maintenance staff in various trades as needed.
- Cross-train to perform or assist in other construction or maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- Documented working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of plumbing systems.
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
- Two years of experience in the repair, replacement, or construction of piping systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
