About the position

The Plumber at Trinity Health is responsible for maintaining and repairing medical center facilities to support healthcare, medical education, and research missions. This role involves skilled maintenance, repair, installation, and fabrication tasks related to plumbing systems, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for building occupants.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and proper response to assigned service calls and work orders to maintain a safe and efficient facility environment.
  • Evaluate malfunctions in complex plumbing systems, develop solutions, and take corrective action.
  • Repair, replace, or install piping and related plumbing fixtures, pumps, valves, and toilets.
  • Inspect, test, install, maintain, and repair building fire safety sprinkler systems and components.
  • Conduct facility inspections and preventive maintenance on plumbing components and fixtures.
  • Assist building tenants in resolving facility-related plumbing problems and promote customer satisfaction.
  • Execute assigned tasks consistent with safety procedures to minimize risk to self and associates.
  • Participate in disaster response support and safety training as required.
  • Assist with other trade/maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Journeyman-level plumbing skills and experience in maintenance and repair of plumbing systems.
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot complex plumbing issues effectively.
  • Experience with fire safety sprinkler systems and building water supply and sewer systems.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with building tenants and customer departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with specialized equipment such as reverse osmosis and demineralized water systems.
  • Knowledge of Legionella testing procedures.
