Plumber

About the position

The Plumber position at the City of Pueblo is a full-time role responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on plumbing systems and related equipment. Under the general supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent, the Plumber will handle tasks related to the servicing, repairs, construction, assembly, and installation of plumbing components, as well as air conditioning and heating systems. This role may also involve overseeing temporary employees or outside contractors, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes, and providing training to lower pay grades.

Responsibilities

• Perform general servicing, installation, repair, and maintenance work on plumbing systems, including sanitary systems and hot and cold-water supply.
• Design and install water and DWV lines in new construction or major remodels.
• Maintain and repair existing plumbing systems in the City inventory, including potable water systems and hydronic heat systems.
• Pull necessary permits from the Regional Building Department and cooperate with inspectors during construction.
• Assist in carpentry, heating/air conditioning, and other trades as required.
• Act as signatory authority for certification of required training for promotion advancements within this classification and other trade classifications.
• Provide training and mentoring to lower pay grades and other trades.

Requirements

• High School diploma, G.E.D or higher.
• Four (4) years of successful experience in residential and commercial plumbing work.
• A valid State of Colorado Plumber License.
• A valid driver's license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of employment.
