About the position
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber's Helper / Apprentice to join our team. As a Plumber's Helper, you will assist our experienced plumbers in various tasks related to construction plumbing and field service. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in the plumbing industry and wants to gain hands-on experience. In this role, you will be involved in a variety of plumbing tasks, working closely with seasoned professionals to learn the trade and develop your skills. Your responsibilities will include assisting plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, as well as carrying out basic plumbing tasks under their guidance. You will help with pipe threading, cutting, and fitting, and will be expected to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. Additionally, you will assist in assembling and installing pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures, and perform general construction duties as needed. This position requires effective utilization of hand tools and power tools, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems
- Carry out basic plumbing tasks under the guidance of experienced plumbers
- Help with pipe threading, cutting, and fitting
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
- Assist in assembling and installing pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures
- Perform general construction duties as needed
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction plumbing or related field is preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing techniques and principles
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver's license is a plus
