About the position

As a Plumbing Engineer you will work closely with Strang’s integrated team of design professionals and lead the planning and design of a variety of exciting and complex project types. Working under the direction of a Plumbing Manager you will advance your knowledge and experience in project management techniques to effectively lead project teams of all sizes and ensure the successful and timely completion of projects within budget and to the highest quality standards. This position can be located at one of Strang's regional offices in Wisconsin with flexible work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients and Strang's integrated team to determine the appropriate Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for the project.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of plumbing and fire protection systems into overall building designs.
  • Complete feasibility studies, and probable cost estimates.
  • Oversee the production of construction documents (plans, details, schedules, specifications).
  • Conduct quality assessments, and assist with construction administration.
  • Adhere to plumbing processes and procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on design and technical issues.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Professional Engineering license (P.E.) preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Thorough working knowledge of relevant engineering software: Revit, BIM, CAD, and other software programs associated with system sizing and design.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
