About the position

The Plumbing Engineer at LEAF Engineers will be responsible for designing plumbing systems for large commercial projects, primarily focusing on K-12 schools. This role emphasizes teamwork and collaboration, requiring the engineer to develop and review Revit models, create project drawings, and ensure quality assurance of construction documents. The position also involves mentoring less experienced staff and actively seeking knowledge related to engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design storm and sanitary waste systems, domestic and commercial cold and hot water distribution systems.
• Size pipes and specify plumbing fixtures and equipment.
• Layout fire protection systems.
• Develop, modify, and review Revit models of plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Create project drawings from the Revit model.
• Organize and maintain Revit models and AutoCAD documents for multiple projects.
• Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
• Check designs for interferences with other building elements using Revit.
• Produce equipment schedules and make necessary adjustments with input from the engineering team.
• Implement and utilize LEAF Engineers Standards for projects and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering technology degree preferred.
• 5 years of work experience with an engineering consultant.
• Proficient in Revit 2022 and AutoCAD 2021.
