Responsibilities

  • Design plumbing and piping systems including domestic/potable water, hot water, sanitary sewer, and storm water systems.
  • Perform plumbing engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and system layout coordination.
  • Read and understand construction documents, floor plans, specifications, and equipment details.
  • Produce drawings and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for plumbing systems.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes and industry standards in design work.
  • Write and edit specifications, reports, narratives, and surveys.
  • Attend external meetings to gather design input and ensure plumbing system coordination.
  • Conduct site visits, issue reviews and reports, and survey existing buildings for plumbing systems.
  • Review equipment submittals and respond to contractor inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Plumbing emphasis or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in plumbing and piping system engineering and design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and RevitTM BIM software.
  • Detailed knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  • Efficient in MS Office, Outlook, and engineering calculations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic project environment.
  • Confident and positive attitude with colleagues and clients.
