About the position
The PM Caregiver/Med Passer at Cardinal Ridge Residential Care is responsible for providing direct care to residents according to their individual service plans. The role emphasizes treating residents with respect and dignity, promoting independence, and maintaining a homelike atmosphere. Caregivers assist with daily living activities, medication administration, and engage residents in social and leisure activities while ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring.
- Serve meals to residents and assist in meal preparation as needed.
- Encourage residents to maintain a proper diet and hydration while respecting their choices.
- Record and report changes in residents' eating habits and health conditions to the supervisor.
- Initiate and participate in leisure activities for residents as per the activity calendar.
- Maintain daily records related to medication distribution, leisure activities, and any changes in residents' conditions.
- Administer medications to residents who cannot self-administer, following physician orders and state laws.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment for residents, including housekeeping duties.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and resident requests for assistance.
- Encourage teamwork and cooperative interactions with co-workers.
Requirements
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Experience in caregiving or related field
- Ability to prepare meals and assist with meal planning
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures
