About the position

The Talent Acquisition Manager will serve as a strategic partner within the Department of Correction, assisting leadership in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the hiring process. This role involves coaching and mentoring staff, developing strong applicant sources, and acting as a brand ambassador to attract new talent to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to the Director of Recruitment, Recruitment Manager, and Diversity Director regarding recruitment methods and retention programs.
  • Perform data analysis of recruitment trends and suggest measures to enhance agency recruitment initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly data analysis to identify gaps related to agency-protected categories.
  • Recruit candidates for civil service and non-civil service positions and participate in the interview process.
  • Act as a liaison to the Diversity Director, planning and coordinating activities to publicize job opportunities.
  • Build and foster relationships with community stakeholders to develop candidate pipelines.
  • Explain career growth opportunities within the DOC and the prescreening process for correctional officers to potential candidates.
  • Match applicants' qualifications with job requirements by reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in social media management.
  • A Doctoral degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Supervising experience is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
