As a PM Sanitation Worker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a high level of Food Safety and Product Quality through the cleaning and sanitation of food processing equipment, utensils, and the facility. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleaning and sanitation in accordance with the company Master Sanitation Program, utilizing chemicals and cleaning agents to clean and sanitize processing area walls, floors, and equipment, and ensuring the proper use of sanitation tools in a safe manner. You will also be responsible for the removal of debris from the processing area and communicating chemical supply levels to management. In this role, you will observe and record facility conditions to ensure all areas are within company and regulatory specifications. You will verify the adequacy of cleaning and sanitation performed on areas and equipment, complete and sign off on appropriate forms, and document actions taken in response to unsatisfactory observations on Equipment, Utensils, and/or Process Area conditions. Additionally, you will maintain plant safety, work independently with minimal supervision, and provide backup support for other duties as needed. Becoming certified as an electric pallet jack and forklift operator is also part of your responsibilities, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize refuse and sanitation tools in a proper and safe manner
  • Removal of debris from processing area
  • Communicate chemicals supply levels to management
  • Observe and record facility conditions to ensure all areas are within company and regulatory specifications
  • Verify the adequacy of cleaning and sanitation performed on areas and equipment and complete and sign off on appropriate forms
  • Document actions taken in response to unsatisfactory observations on Equipment, Utensils, and/or Process Area conditions
  • Complete testing when applicable
  • Maintain plant safety
  • Maintain and proper use of equipment
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Provide back up support for other duties as needed
  • Become certified as an electric pallet jack and forklift operator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience with the utilization of sanitation tools and chemicals
  • Knowledge of food safety
  • Safe operation of forklifts and powered pallet jacks
