About the position

As a Front Desk Agent at Holiday Inn Express - Chatham Parkway, you will manage evening front desk operations and cover the night shift when the Night Auditor is off. This role ensures smooth and efficient overnight operations, balancing financial records, handling guest inquiries, and maintaining hotel security.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nightly audits of financial transactions, including reconciling guest accounts and verifying charges.
  • Generate and review daily financial reports, including occupancy rates and revenue.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records or guest accounts.
  • Provide exceptional service to guests during the night shift, including check-ins and check-outs.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage front desk operations, including answering phones and processing reservations.
  • Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Monitor the hotel's security systems and perform regular patrols for safety.
  • Handle emergency situations and coordinate with emergency services if necessary.
  • Prepare and distribute nightly reports to management, summarizing guest activity and financial performance.
  • Complete and file necessary paperwork, including guest registration cards and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with the day shift team and management regarding issues or updates from the night shift.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to address overnight needs or requests.
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions to guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality or business is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a hotel front desk or audit role preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle emergency situations.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
