About the position
The PM Steward at The Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the restaurant and kitchen areas. This entry-level position involves operating dishwashing equipment, manually cleaning kitchen items, and ensuring a tidy work environment to support the overall dining experience for guests.
Responsibilities
- Gathers all dirty dishware from tubs and prepares them for washing.
- Loads and operates the automatic dishwashing machine according to instructions.
- Monitors and adjusts controls for dishwashing solutions and chemicals.
- Unloads and inspects clean dishes, stacking them for easy access by staff.
- Manually scrubs pots, pans, and kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automatically.
- Polishes silver, stainless steel, and pewter used in food service.
- Maintains dishwashing equipment in good working order and meets health compliance regulations.
- Keeps the dish room clean and organized, including sweeping and mopping floors.
- Cleans kitchen work surfaces, walls, and equipment as scheduled.
- Empties trash cans and sweeps loading dock and kitchen entrance areas.
