About the position

The Senior Azure Architect at Virtusa is responsible for analyzing client application requirements and leading the implementation of architectures that meet these needs. This role involves ensuring data integrity, performance, scalability, and high availability in cloud-based systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and transforming Azure cloud applications, working closely with clients and delivery teams to solve complex business and technology challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and deliver medium to large-scale Azure cloud application development and transformation engagements.
• Help enterprise customers understand cloud considerations and develop cloud application strategies.
• Refactor existing applications for Azure and develop new Azure-based cloud-native applications.
• Implement Cloud Migrations and API Management.
• Develop and implement application modernization, refactoring, and migration approaches to transition applications workloads from On-Premises to Azure.
• Interact with customers and delivery teams to solve mission-critical business and technology problems.
• Execute technical feasibility assessments, solution estimations, and proposal development for moving workloads to Azure.
• Conduct application assessments and analysis for large cloud migrations.
• Translate business and feature requirements into technical architecture and specifications.

Requirements

• 14+ years experience in Microsoft.NET Technologies with at least 5 years in architecture and design in .NET technologies (.NET Core, C#).
• Proficient in Azure Cloud Application Development, modernization, implementation, deployment, and support of distributed applications using .NET, C#, and client technologies like JQuery, Angular/React.
• Experience in Azure API development and integration with RESTful Microservices methodologies.
• Knowledge and experience with AGILE development, SCRUM, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
• Experience in customer-facing roles leading technical architecture and application design discussions.
• Oversight experience on transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams.
• Strong presentation skills for both large and small audiences at all levels of the organization.
• Expertise in modernizing traditional N-Tier applications to Azure.
• Familiarity with cloud-native application architecture patterns including containers and functional computing.
• Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
• Demonstrated strong project delivery experience with regards to estimates, planning, and deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding implementation of compliance and regulatory requirements into cloud architecture, Azure a plus.
• Experience with CDN and large scale distributed platforms deployed in cloud, Azure a plus.
• Project experience in migrating On-Premise workloads to the cloud and/or implementing cloud-ready applications.
• Amazon AWS Platform or Google Cloud experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps (VSTS) Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) is a plus.
