About the position

The PNT Systems Engineer at MITRE will play a crucial role in supporting the SSC/CG PNT mission area by leveraging technical expertise and operational understanding to provide data-driven insights and recommendations. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance mission success and develop resilient space-based solutions for the U.S. government.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with sponsor personnel to understand their PNT mission challenges and enhance MITRE's role in achieving operational objectives.
  • Provide expert knowledge in mission areas including Resilient GPS and GPS Enterprise Modernization, analyzing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with MITRE and Government stakeholders, making actionable recommendations for mission objectives and overseeing system implementations.
  • Conduct system engineering trade studies, analyze systems and requirements, and assess technologies to support engineering recommendations.
  • Evaluate industry proposals to ensure compliance with Government requirements and provide strategic insights.
  • Foster a positive culture aligned with MITRE's values, promoting diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or an M.S. degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Technical experience in GPS and alternative PNT technologies and trends.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to build collaboration across organizational units.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team to drive technical impact.
  • Experience in the United States Space Force (USSF) acquisition process and programs of record.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical and conceptual ideas.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. in Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or a Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in GPS and alternative PNT technologies and trends.
  • Experience working with GPS programs of record, including Control, Space, and User Equipment.
