Requirements

• Board certification or qualification by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery or the American Board of Podiatric Medicine is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical setting with veterans or similar populations.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices in podiatry.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct medical, surgical, and telehealth care in podiatry.
• Complete history and physical examinations with an emphasis on diagnosis and foot/ankle pathology.
• Manage podiatric pathology and prescribe pharmaceuticals and therapeutic devices.
• Provide appropriate consultation, referral, and co-management of patients with complicating systemic conditions.
• Offer professional advice to medical staff regarding patient management.
• Engage in health promotion and disease prevention activities.
• Provide outpatient and inpatient podiatric medical and surgical services as needed.
• Conduct ongoing prevention, in-service, and patient education programs.
• Direct, teach, and train residents and students in training programs.
• Screen all Wake County podiatry consults for triage and urgency of care.
