Police Academy Instructor (part-time): Instructs students in basic, advanced and specialized law enforcement classes. This position pays $30/hr.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes diverse instructional methodologies based upon proven adult learning principles while presenting and incorporating classroom and practical, scenario-based performance outcome training programs.
• Works as a team member in the Police Academy.
• Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of the Police Academy.

Requirements

• TCOLE Basic Instructor certification preferred or must be designated, in writing, as a subject matter expert in the course by the training coordinator to adhere to TCOLE RULE §215.10: Course Instructor Requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to engage student in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
• Collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
• Excellent computer and multimedia skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
