About the position
The Police Investigator, under direction, coordinates and conducts criminal investigations and maintains criminal intelligence for the Police Department. This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities
- Takes reports and performs preliminary investigations.
- Enforces criminal laws and violations.
- Investigates illegal or suspicious activities, persons, and establishments.
- Prepares timely reports of serious crimes that pose a threat to the University community.
- Reviews offense reports for criminal activity, pattern, and method of operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Peace Officer License.
