The Police Officer - Certified/Senior Police Officer - Lateral position is a safety-sensitive role responsible for maintaining civil order, enforcing laws, and protecting life and property in Westminster, CO. Officers will engage in crime detection and prevention, apprehension of criminals, and enforcement of laws in designated areas or shifts. Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and evaluate incidents effectively.
• Arrest, detain, and search suspects while ensuring safety.
• Communicate effectively with the public and provide law enforcement information.
• Perform patrol activities and enforce laws and ordinances.
• Safely operate required vehicles and equipment, maintaining them as necessary.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laws and department policies, testifying in court as needed.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Graduation from a certified Police Academy.
• Colorado POST Certified or Provisionally Colorado POST Certified at the time of hire.
• At least two years full-time Law Enforcement Patrol experience as a POST Certified Police Officer within the last 3 years.
• No felony convictions.
• Valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves
