About The Position

The Police Officer at UMC Health System is responsible for providing security support to the main hospital and its annex, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves patrolling, responding to emergencies, enforcing laws, and assisting in various security-related tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year experience as a peace officer
• Texas Peace Officer license in good standing
• Valid Class C Texas Driver License
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• High degree of knowledge of the Texas Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedures
• Working knowledge of law enforcement administration, organization, and management

Responsibilities

• Assist UMC Security Officers as needed
• Patrol the Emergency Center inside and outside to ensure safety and security
• Respond to emergency calls and situations within the hospital
• Gather evidence and investigate unauthorized activity and violations
• Enforce all state laws within UMC property
• Enforce traffic laws within the UMC complex
• Perform all other assigned duties related to UMC Police Department
