About the position
The Police Officer position in Bellbrook, OH, is responsible for providing full-service law enforcement to the community. This includes responding to calls for service, patrolling neighborhoods, enforcing laws, and protecting the public. Responsibilities
- Respond to law enforcement calls for assistance and initiate appropriate action.
- Perform traffic enforcement and issue citations for violations of traffic laws.
- Investigate automobile accidents and conduct routine security inspections.
- Drive department vehicles and operate law enforcement equipment safely and legally.
- Complete and maintain detailed written reports using a computer.
- Make arrests when necessary and transport prisoners.
- Provide first aid, CPR, and use of AED and other medical equipment when necessary.
- Participate in training related to law enforcement and community involvement projects.
- Assist in the coordination of safety educational programs for the Police Department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration or related field preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Ohio Driver's License.
- Must present State of Ohio Peace Officer Certification at time of appointment.
- Thorough knowledge of law enforcement principles and practices.
- Ability to prepare investigative and administrative reports.
