The Policy Analyst position at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas involves analyzing and delivering insights into public policy issues, particularly focusing on financial stability topics. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative analysis skills and experience in policy analysis relevant to the Federal Reserve.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze policy-relevant themes across the full scope of the Federal Reserve's mission.
  • Contribute significantly to the development of briefings, memos, and other policy analysis for the president and senior leadership.
  • Develop expertise and provide thought leadership in one or more aspects of the Federal Reserve's mission.
  • Leverage policy expertise to advise Bank leadership on complex and critical policy issues.
  • Independently prepare and support original analysis on Federal Reserve policy-relevant topics for Bank publications.
  • Work closely with colleagues across all Bank and System functions, leveraging expertise to produce high-quality, policy-relevant analysis and integrate cross-functional analysis.
  • Build collaborative relationships across organizational lines.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in conducting analytic projects, through all stages from concept to a final report.
  • Integrate multidisciplinary policy-relevant analysis.

Requirements

  • Master's level degree in economics, public policy, finance, or a related area; or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years' relevant work experience, with knowledge of one or more aspects of the Federal Reserve's mission, interest in financial markets and monetary policy, and demonstrated capacity for learning rapidly about new areas.
  • Proficient in analyzing developments or producing research on Federal Reserve-relevant policy issues.
  • Strong analytical and written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work productively in a high-performance team atmosphere as an independent contributor.
  • Self-direction with ability to manage multiple projects, take initiative, and solve problems.
  • Proficient in econometric techniques that enable interpretation and use of data in economic analysis, and experience implementing such techniques.
